Like their previous best-selling EMI albums, De Mi Alma Latina (From my Latin Soul), Volumes I & II, and Grammy award-winning 100 Años de Mariachi (100 Years of Mariachi), Quiéreme Mucho is a return to the music which Domingo describes as ‘dear to my heart, capturing the entire spectrum of human emotion’. With songs like Mia from Mexico, Señora from Cuba, Tres Veces Te Amo from the Dominican Republic, each selection on the album illustrates the irresistible pairing of Plácido Domingo’s magnificent voice with Bebu Silvetti’s lush arrangements

After topping the Billboard 2001 year-end Hot Latin Tracks Producer Chart, Bebu Silvetti once again brings his unique "sound" to the duo which has sold 2.5 million albums world-wide for EMI. Silvetti is renown for his acoustic instrumentation and sweeping string arrangements, and this latest release is no exception. From the orchestration for a 104-piece ensemble to the contemporary Latin rhythms, Quiéreme Mucho’s romantic atmosphere allows the unmistakable voice of Plácido Domingo to shine.

Plácido Domingo has been recording for EMI for over 30 years. As one of the most charismatic figures in the world of opera, he has interpreted nearly all the roles in the tenor repertory. With an extensive discography that includes recordings of Don Carlos (his first recording for EMI), Aida, Otello, Tosca and one of his most recent releases for EMI, Wagner Love Duets (with the follow-up, Wagner Scenes, to be released in the spring of 2002), Domingo consistently demonstrates his mastery of repertoire, as well as his passion for every genre of music.
