Your CD-ROM drive does not recognise Perlman CD-ROM or it appears only as an audio CD?

There are two reasons why you may not be able to play the CD-ROM:

1. Your CD-ROM drive must be multi-session - early drives were single session only. Check with your hardware manufacturer to determine the compatability of your hardware.
Unfortunately the only solution to this problem is to upgrade your CD-ROM drive.

2. You should have the most up-to-date CD-ROM extensions for your CD-ROM drive as older ones may not recognise the second session. You should also check that the CD is not scratched or dirty.

Are you having problems seeing the video?

If you cannot see the video clips of Itzhak Perlman, it is possible that QuickTime is not correctly installed on your PC.

The current version of QuickTime is included on the CD. You should install it, following the instructions in the readme file, after deleting any old versions.

If the video is playing, but not very well, it is often possible to improve it by turning off any unnecessary programs which are running in the background.

Are you having problems hearing the audio from the CD?

Check that your computer has a soundblaster compatible sound card installed and configured.

If your computer has external speakers, ensure that they are correctly plugged in and switched on.

If your computer does not have external speakers and your CD-ROM drive is not connected to your sound card, you will need to plug headphones into the 'phones' socket on your CD-ROM drive. Note that if you do this you will need to adjust the volume using the controls on the front of your drive.

If you are not sure whether your computer has a sound card, or how to configure it, please refer to your computer's documentation or to your computer dealer.
